Findings

  • Increased prominence of the pulmonary vasculature and interstitium with superimposed right upper lobe airspace opacities
  • Small bilateral pleural effusions
  • No pneumothorax
  • Normal size and configuration of the cardiopericardial silhouette

Diagnosis

Acute mitral regurgitation

Sample Report

Interstitial pulmonary edema with superimposed right upper lobe airspace opacities which could reflect pneumonia or asymmetric edema. Given the right upper lobe predominance, acute mitral regurgitation is a consideration.

Small bilateral pleural effusions.
