Findings

  • Mild bibasilar patchy opacities
  • Vertically-oriented line traversing the lateral right lung field
  • No pleural effusion
  • Normal size and configuration of the cardiopericardial silhouette

Diagnosis

Skin fold

Sample Report

Mild bibasilar patchy opacities which may represent atelectasis, aspiration, or pneumonia. Consider dedicated PA and lateral chest radiographs for further evaluation.

Vertically-oriented line traversing the lateral right lung field likely represents a skin fold. Repeat imaging could be considered if there is high clinical concern for pneumothorax.
