  • Moderate-sized layering left pleural effusion with a component tracking along the left lung apex
  • Patchy airspace opacification in the left lung base
  • Mild enlargement of the cardiopericardial silhouette

Diagnosis

Loculated pleural effusion

Sample Report

Moderate-sized layering left pleural effusion with a loculated component tracking along the left lung apex.

Patchy airspace opacification in the left lung base is concerning for aspiration and/or pneumonia.

Mild cardiomegaly.

No frank pulmonary edema.
