Demographics: 81 years old, Male
Indication: Evaluate for post-biopsy pneumothorax

Findings

  • Small left apical pneumothorax
  • Cardiomegaly with marked left atrial enlargement
  • Mild interstitial prominence likely related to chronic changes without evidence of superimposed pneumonia
  • Bilateral pulmonary nodules
  • Thoracic aortic atherosclerosis
  • Lower thoracic spine compression fracture
  • Osteopenia and polyarticular arthritis

Diagnosis

Left atrial enlargement

Sample Report

Small left apical pneumothorax in this patient status post lung biopsy.

Marked cardiomegaly and left atrial enlargement, which can be further evaluated with echocardiography.

Mild diffuse interstitial prominence likely relates to chronic changes without evidence of superimposed acute airspace disease.

Bilateral pulmonary nodules, which can be further evaluated with CT.

Age-indeterminate lower thoracic spine compression fracture. Consider CT for further evaluation if there is clinical concern for acute fracture.
