Demographics: 72 years old, Male
Indication: Trauma

Findings

Chest

  • Moderate left hemopneumothorax
  • Mild dependent groundglass opacities in the left upper and lower lobes
  • Left subclavian approach cardiac rhythm maintenance device with leads in the right atrium and right ventricle
  • Moderate coronary artery calcification
  • Thoracic aortic atherosclerosis without aneurysm

Upper abdomen

  • Hepatic steatosis
  • Cholecystectomy

MSK

  • Acute mildly displaced left anterolateral fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh rib fractures
  • Remote appearing ununited left posterior eighth rib fracture
  • Left chest wall subcutaneous emphysema

Diagnosis

Hemopneumothorax

Sample Report

Acute mildly displaced left anterolateral fourth through seventh rib fractures with a moderate-sized left hemopneumothorax.

No mediastinal shift.

Remote appearing ununited left posterior eighth rib fracture.

Mild dependent groundglass opacities in the left upper and lower lobes may represent subsegmental atelectasis and/or aspiration in the setting of trauma.
