Pulmonary contusion

Sample Report

Areas of pulmonary contusion in the right middle lobe and both lower lobes with several tiny intermixed lucencies possibly representing traumatic pneumatoceles.

Acute mildly displaced fracture of the right anterior seventh rib. No pneumothorax.

Trace low attenuation free fluid layering in the anatomic pelvis, which is likely physiologic. However, repeat imaging should be considered in 12-24 hours if there is clinical concern for an occult bowel or mesenteric injury.
