Findings

Chest radiograph

  • Endotracheal tube terminates at the level of the carina
  • Gastric suction catheter with tip and side port overlying the gastric fundus
  • Right IJ approach Port-A-Cath with tip overlying the superior cavoatrial junction
  • No focal airspace opacification or edema
  • Bilateral breast prostheses

CT

Chest

  • Debris layering in the trachea and right mainstem bronchus with multifocal bronchial plugging in the right lower lobe
  • Mild patchy groundglass opacities in the left lower lobe
  • Left lower lobe calcified granuloma
  • Tangential postradiation changes in the left anterior lung
  • Biapical scarring, more so on the left
  • Calcified subcarinal and left hilar lymph nodes
  • Endotracheal tube terminates in the mid thoracic trachea, in appropriate position
  • Right IJ approach Port-A-Cath with tip in the right atrium

Upper abdomen

  • Gastric suction tube tip in the gastric fundus
  • Cholecystectomy
  • Hepatic steatosis

MSK

  • Surgical changes of bilateral mastectomies with bilateral breast prostheses

Diagnosis

Aspiration

Sample Report

Mild patchy groundglass opacities in the left lower lobe are concerning for aspiration and/or pneumonia. Aspiration is of particular concern given debris in the central airways and plugging multiple right lower lobe bronchi.

Endotracheal tube terminates in satisfactory position.
