Findings

Lower chest

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Edematous appearance of the pancreatic head with adjacent stranding obscuring the normal fat plane separating the pancreas and duodenum
  • Hyperattenuating material in the gallbladder likely relating to vicarious excretion of contrast material (the patient had had a recent outside contrast-enhanced CT)
  • Colonic diverticulosis
  • Appendectomy

MSK

  • No acute findings

Diagnosis

Paraduodenal pancreatitis

Sample Report

Findings concerning for acute paraduodenal pancreatitis with isolated inflammation involving the pancreatic head. No peripancreatic collection or ductal dilation.

Small peripherally enhancing structure along the posterior wall of the lower thoracic esophagus, which could represent a small diverticulum or duplication cyst. Recommend outpatient gastroenterology referral for further evaluation.
