  • Anterior mediastinal hematoma measuring 10 mm in thickness
  • Clustered right pericardial cysts with the largest measuring 20 x 17 mm
  • Thoracic aortic atherosclerosis without aneurysm
  • Moderate coronary artery calcification
  • Subcentimeter hypoattenuating right thyroid lobe nodules, which require no further imaging investigation

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Mild ill-defined fluid and fat stranding in the left lower quadrant with adjacent peritoneal thickening
  • Cholelithiasis
  • Focal mural thickening at the gallbladder fundus may represent adenomyomatosis
  • Scattered pancreatic parenchymal calcifications
  • Left lower pole renal cyst and additional bilateral subcentimeter renal hypoattenuating lesions which are too small to characterize
  • Prostatomegaly
  • Mild atherosclerotic calcification of the abdominal aorta and branch vessels without aneurysm

MSK

  • Acute minimally displaced upper sternal body fracture
  • Acute nondisplaced right anterior fourth and fifth rib fractures
  • Right chest wall soft tissue contusion overlying the rib fractures
  • Lower ventral abdominal wall soft tissue contusion
  • Soft tissue hematoma along the anterior and lateral margins of the left iliac wing, with areas of hyperattenuation in the anterior hematoma which enlarge on delayed images

Diagnosis

Mesenteric injury

Sample Report

Acute minimally displaced upper sternal body fracture with a small associated anterior mediastinal hematoma. No evidence of traumatic aortic injury.

Acute nondisplaced right anterior fourth and fifth rib fractures. No pneumothorax.

Seatbelt pattern of soft tissue contusion with evidence of active hemorrhage along the anterior aspect of the left iliac wing.
