Demographics: 15 years old, Male
Indication: Upper abdominal pain

Findings

Lower chest

  • Multifocal groundglass opacities and airspace consolidation in the left lower lobe

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Small area of patchy hypoenhancement in the upper pole of the left kidney
  • Punctate radiodensities in the right inguinal canal which may be postsurgical (patient had a history of orchiopexy)

MSK

  • No acute findings
  • Multilevel Schmorl's node formation

Diagnosis

Pyelonephritis

Pneumonia

Sample Report

Small area of patchy hypoenhancement in the upper pole of the left kidney which could represent focal pyelonephritis. Recommend correlation with urinalysis and follow-up renal ultrasound to exclude underlying lesion.

Left lower lobe pneumonia.
