Demographics: 24 years old, Female
Indication: Abdominal distension and pain

Findings

Lower chest

  • Minimal dependent atelectasis

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Large, predominantly cystic mass measuring 26 x 14 x 29 cm filling the pelvis and much of the abdomen, which appears to arise from the left ovary
  • Several thin internal septations in the upper right aspect of the mass
  • The right ovary is separate from this mass with several intraovarian cysts measuring up to 4.8 cm
  • Heterogeneous enhancement of the uterus
  • No bowel obstruction or hydronephrosis
  • Small volume free fluid layering in the anatomic pelvis

MSK

  • No acute findings

Diagnosis

Cystic ovarian neoplasm (mucinous cystadenoma)

Sample Report

Large predominantly cystic mass appearing to arise from the left ovary with extensive mass effect but no evidence of bowel obstruction or hydronephrosis. The primary differential consideration is a cystic ovarian neoplasm. Recommend gynecology assessment and consideration of MRI for further evaluation.

Cystic right ovarian lesions which can also be further evaluated with MRI.
