Demographics: 11 years old, Male
Indication: Right lower quadrant pain

Findings

Lower chest

  • No acute findings

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Dilated blind-ending structure arising from the distal ileum with surrounding fat stranding
  • Normal appendix
  • Multiple mildly enlarged ileocolic lymph nodes, likely reactive
  • Duplicated left renal collection system with volume loss and scarring in the upper pole
  • No hydronephrosis
  • Small volume free fluid layering in the anatomic pelvis
  • Incidental splenule

MSK

  • No acute findings

Diagnosis

Meckel diverticulitis

Sample Report

Findings consistent with Meckel diverticulitis.

Appendix is normal.

Duplicated left renal collecting system without hydronephrosis. Scarring in the left upper pole likely relates to reflux nephropathy.
