Findings
- Acute minimally displaced fracture through the proximal humeral diaphysis
- The fracture extends through a large expansile lucent lesion which thins the overlying cortex without cortical disruption or periosteal reaction
Diagnosis
Aneurysmal bone cyst with pathological fracture
Sample Report
Acute minimally displaced pathological fracture through a large lucent lesion in the proximal humeral diaphysis. This lesion results in marrow space expansion and overlying cortex thinning without cortical disruption or periosteal reaction and is favored to represent a unicameral bone cyst or aneurysmal bone cyst. MRI could provide further characterization, if clinically indicated.
No joint malalignment.
