Findings

  • Narrowing of the subglottic airway with loss of the normal shouldering
  • Mild ballooning of the hypopharynx
  • Normal appearance of the epiglottis
  • No retropharyngeal soft tissue thickening

Diagnosis

Croup (laryngotracheobronchitis)

Sample Report

Narrowing of the subglottic airway with loss of the normal shouldering, which in combination with mild ballooning of the hypopharynx is consistent with croup.

Normal appearance of the epiglottis.

No retropharyngeal soft tissue thickening.
