Findings

  • Mild hyperinflation with bilateral peribronchial thickening
  • Hazy right basilar opacity
  • No pleural effusion or pneumothorax
  • Normal size and configuration of the cardiothymic silhouette

Diagnosis

Viral bronchiolitis

Sample Report

Mild hyperinflation with bilateral peribronchial thickening, which can be seen with viral bronchiolitis. 

Hazy right basilar opacity likely represents atelectasis though a developing pneumonia is not excluded.

No pleural effusion or pneumothorax.

Normal size and configuration of the cardiothymic silhouette.
