Findings
- No radiopaque foreign body
- Symmetric pulmonary expansion without evidence of focal air trapping
- No pleural effusion or pneumothorax
- Normal size and configuration of the cardiothymic silhouette
- Rounded impression along the right aspect of the trachea in the superior mediastinum
Diagnosis
Right aortic arch vs double aortic arch
Sample Report
No radiopaque foreign body.
Symmetric pulmonary expansion without evidence of focal air trapping. If there is ongoing clinical concern for foreign body, consider lateral decubitus radiographs for further evaluation.
No pleural effusion or pneumothorax.
Normal size and configuration of the cardiothymic silhouette.
Rounded impression along the right aspect of the trachea in the superior mediastinum likely represents a right aortic arch or double aortic arch. Consider echocardiography or chest CTA for further evaluation.
