Demographics:

Indication:
New-onset ataxia
Findings
- Multiple T2/STIR hyperintense lesions in the cervical spinal cord, particularly involving white matter tracts, many of which have associated enhancement
- Normal cord size and contour
- No significant focal degenerative changes
- Normal marrow signal
- Normal alignment
Diagnosis
Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM)
Sample Report
Multiple enhancing T2/STIR hyperintense lesions in the cervical spinal cord, which appearance is most concerning for a demyelinating process such as multiple sclerosis or ADEM. Recommend correlation with CSF analysis.
