Demographics: 4 months old, Female
Indication: Fall, possible seizure

Findings

  • No acute intracranial abnormality
  • Enlargement of the bifrontal subarachnoid spaces
  • Positional plagiocephaly with flattening of the right occipital region

Diagnosis

Benign enlargement of the subarachnoid spaces in infancy (BESSI).

Sample Report

No acute intracranial abnormality. Consider MRI for further evaluation if there is ongoing concern for seizure activity.

Enlargement of the bifrontal subarachnoid spaces compatible with benign enlargement of the subarachnoid spaces in infancy (BESSI).

Positional plagiocephaly with flattening of the right occipital region. No calvarial fracture.
