Demographics: 61 years old, Female
Indication: Blunt trauma

Findings

  • Bilateral acute Le Fort type I and II fractures with bilateral nasal arch fractures extending to the nasofrontal suture, bilateral medial orbital wall and orbital floor fractures, fractures of the medial and lateral walls of the right maxillary sinus, fractures of all walls of the left maxillary sinus, fracture of the nasal septum, and bilateral pterygoid plate fractures
  • A linear fracture extends through the hard palate to the alveolar ridge and involves the nasopalatine foramen
  • Bilateral ethmoid, maxillary, and sphenoid hemosinus
  • Bilateral middle ear and mastoid trabecular destruction with ossicular erosions and abnormal soft tissue density in the right greater than left middle ears

Diagnosis

Bilateral Le Fort type I and II fractures

Sample Report

Bilateral acute Le Fort type I and II fractures including bilateral orbital floor fractures without evidence of extraocular muscle entrapment. Globes are intact.

A linear fracture extends through the hard palate to the alveolar ridge and involves the nasopalatine foramen.

Bilateral middle ear and mastoid trabecular destruction with ossicular erosions and abnormal soft tissue density in the right greater than left middle ears. Findings may represent changes of age-indeterminate coalescent otomastoiditis or cholesteatoma.
