Findings
- Multiple hyperattenuating foci scattered throughout both cerebral hemispheres and in the left cerebral peduncle. One lesion in the posterior left frontal periventricular white matter appears predominantly cystic
- Atherosclerotic calcification of the cavernous carotid arteries
- High right frontal scalp laceration
Diagnosis
Multiple cavernomas
Sample Report
Multiple hyperattenuating foci scattered throughout both cerebral hemispheres and in the left cerebral peduncle. One lesion in the posterior left frontal periventricular white matter appears predominantly cystic. The primary differential considerations for these lesions are multifocal hemorrhage related to diffuse axonal injury, multiple hypercellular/hemorrhagic metastases, and multiple cavernomas. Recommend brain MRI with and without contrast for further evaluation.
No mass effect or hydrocephalus.
Atherosclerotic calcification of the cavernous carotid arteries.
High right frontal scalp laceration without subjacent calvarial fracture.
