Findings
- Areas of hypoattenuation in the posterior limb of the right internal capsule, inferior left thalamus, right hemipons, and right cerebellar hemisphere
- Asymmetrically hyperattenuating appearance of the right internal carotid artery terminus and proximal right MCA
- Likely dilated perivascular space along the inferior aspect of the left basal ganglia
Diagnosis
Internal capsule lacunar infarct
Sample Report
Small vessel infarcts involving the posterior limb of the right internal capsule, inferior left thalamus, right hemipons, and right cerebellar hemisphere, which are age-indeterminate in the absence of prior imaging for comparison. Consider MRI for further evaluation if there is clinical concern for acute infarct.
Asymmetrically hyperattenuating appearance of the right internal carotid artery terminus and proximal right MCA, which may be artifactual or could represent thrombus. Recommend correlation with CTA.
