Demographics: 67 years old, Female
Indication: Delirium

Findings

  • Small subcortical hyperattenuating lesion in the right frontal lobe
  • Minimal adjacent white matter hypoattenuation

Diagnosis

Hemorrhagic metastasis

Sample Report

Small hyperattenuating subcortical lesion in the right frontal lobe likely represents a small area of acute hemorrhage. Minimal adjacent edema without significant mass effect. This is an atypical location for hypertensive hemorrhage, and may instead represent hemorrhagic conversion of an infarct, a hemorrhagic metastasis or tumor, amyloid angiopathy, a cavernoma, or a hemorrhagic contusion if there is history of trauma. Recommend brain MRI with and without contrast for further evaluation.
