Indication: Trauma

Findings

  • Acute highly comminuted fracture of the distal tibia with extension into the plafond and involvement of the posterior and medial malleoli
  • Acute comminuted distal fibular fracture with extension into the tibiofibular joint
  • Disruption of the tibiotalar joint with 8 mm lateral subluxation
  • Soft tissue swelling about the ankle

Diagnosis

Pilon fracture

Sample Report

Acute highly comminuted fracture of the distal tibia with extension into the plafond (Pilon fracture) and involvement of the posterior and medial malleoli.

Acute comminuted distal fibular fracture with extension into the tibiofibular joint (Weber type B).

Disruption of the tibiotalar joint with 8 mm lateral subluxation. Soft tissue swelling about the ankle.
