Findings
Lower chest
- Mild dependent atelectasis
Abdomen/Pelvis
- Occlusive, expansile thrombus in the SMV and multiple branches with nonocclusive thrombus extending slightly into the main portal vein
- Marked segmental wall thickening of the proximal jejunum with mural hypoenhancement and associated extensive mesenteric edema
- Trace free fluid layering in the anatomic pelvis
MSK
- No acute findings
Diagnosis
Acute mesenteric ischemia due to venous occlusion
Sample Report
Findings concerning for developing segmental ischemia involving the proximal jejunum secondary to SMV thrombosis. Nonocclusive thrombus also extends slightly into the main portal vein.
No pneumatosis, portal venous gas, or pneumoperitoneum.
