Demographics: 67 years old, Male
Indication: Trauma

Findings

Chest

  • Mild dependent groundglass opacities
  • Moderate coronary artery calcification

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Right lower quadrant mesenteric hematoma measuring 11 x 4 cm in transaxial dimensions with areas of internal contrast density which enlarge on delayed imaging
  • Numerous predominantly low density lesions in both kidneys and the liver of varying size and complexity
  • Right lower quadrant transplant kidney without hydronephrosis
  • Atherosclerotic calcification of the abdominal aorta and branch vessels without aneurysm
  • Focal high grade stenosis of the proximal SMA related to mural thrombus

MSK

  • Acute displaced fractures of the anterolateral right second through ninth ribs with associated extrapleural hematoma
  • Acute minimally displaced fracture of the right twelfth rib
  • Remote right inferior pubic ramus fracture
  • Remote left rib fractures

Diagnosis

Mesenteric injury

Sample Report

Right lower quadrant mesenteric hematoma measuring up to 11 cm with internal active hemorrhage from SMA branches.

Multiple displaced acute right rib fractures with associated extrapleural hematoma. No pneumothorax or pleural fluid collection.

Dependent bilateral groundglass pulmonary opacities which may relate to atelectasis and/or aspiration.

Stigmata of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.

Right lower quadrant transplant kidney without hydronephrosis.
