Demographics: 21 years old, Female
Indication: Right lower quadrant pain, negative pregnancy test

Findings

Lower chest

  • No acute findings

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Peripherally-enhancing structure in the right ovary with crenulated margins
  • Moderate volume hemoperitoneum layering in the anatomic pelvis
  • Normal appendix
  • Subcentimeter hypoattenuating lesion in hepatic segment 4A, which is too small to characterize

MSK

  • No acute findings

Diagnosis

Ruptured ovarian cyst

Sample Report

Moderate hemoperitoneum likely from a ruptured ovarian cyst. Higher density blood clot adjacent to a right ovarian corpus luteal cyst favors this as the causative lesion.

Normal appendix.
