Findings
- Chest
- Multifocal cystic structures with surrounding groundglass opacification in the right costophrenic sulcus and anterior aspect of the right lower lobe
- Small right pneumothorax
- Abdomen/Pelvis
- Liver lacerations measuring up to 2 cm in depth adjacent to the falciform ligament. Small volume perihepatic hemoperitoneum
- Pancreatic laceration with complete parenchymal disruption in the proximal body and surrounding fluid/hematoma
- Query tiny (grade I) splenic laceration with small volume perisplenic hemorrhage
- Moderate volume hemoperitoneum layering dependently in the anatomic pelvis
- Small hematoma in the ascending mesocolon
- MSK
- Acute displaced fractures of the right anterior sixth and seventh ribs
- Acute nondisplaced fractures of the right anterior fifth and eighth ribs
- Acute displaced fractures of the left anterior sixth through eighth ribs
Diagnosis
- Pancreatic injury
- Liver laceration
Sample Report
Small traumatic pneumatoceles in the right lower lobe with small right pneumothorax.
Grade II liver lacerations adjacent to the falciform ligament with adjacent small volume hemoperitoneum. No evidence of active hemorrhage.
Pancreatic laceration with complete parenchymal disruption in the proximal body and surrounding fluid/hematoma. Findings raise concern for pancreatic duct disruption.
Query tiny (grade I) splenic laceration with small volume perisplenic hemorrhage.
Moderate volume hemoperitoneum layering dependently in the anatomic pelvis, which may relate to the upper abdominal trauma; however, injury to the adjacent bowel or bladder is difficult to exclude.
Small hematoma in the ascending mesocolon, which may represent focal mesenteric injury.
Bilateral anterior rib fractures, involving the fifth through eighth ribs on the right and sixth through eighth ribs on the left.
